UiTM welcomes International students from all over the world to experience a never before programme where it is not just about learning, it is about having fun in the tropical sun and exploring the uniqueness of this multi-racial country.

Becoming an exchange student gives you more than knowledge about another country, its language and culture. A semester abroad teaches you about building friendship, taking responsibilities for yourself, respecting differences and tolerating the beliefs of others.

Not only you will get to experience an exciting and challenging way of broadening your horizon, you will be able to spend a semester studying at the faculty of your choice. These results are credited towards your course in UiTM upon satisfactory completion of your exchange. 

International Students


1. Registered as a full-time student at home university
2. Have good English proficiency in both speaking and writing
3. Must agree to abide by the rules and regulations of UiTM or placement provider
4. Agrees to be responsible for the costs incurred

  3. The application of international students will be done online. Once students have submitted their application form, the International Office will contact directly with the students regarding their approval and confirmation.

What are the requirements for the application? 

  1. one(1) copy of student's passport (including the blank pages, A4 size paper)
  2. six(6) copies of student's passport-sized photographs
  3. one(1) copy of academic certificates (Certified True Copy)
  4. Recommendation from International Office

Free waiver to International Students who are from partner universities with UiTM. Students are responsible for all living expenses, incidentals, and travel costs.

  1. All International students who wish to study for 3 – 6 months at any educational institution in Malaysia must apply for a Mobility Pass. Visa Approval Letter (VAL) must be applied three (3) months prior the arrival to obtain Mobility Pass upon arrival.
  2. All students under this category must come under a Mobility Pass and not a tourist or entry visa. OIA will help students to apply for the mobility pass visa upon arrival. Any information will be updated by email.
  3. Effective from 1 December 2016, Visa Approval Letter (VAL) for Mobility Pass application is managed by the Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) through EMGS STAR System, at prior of submission to Malaysia Immigration Department. Any payment charged should be made directly to EMGS.
  4. Once you received the approval letter for your mobility pass, you are required to go to nearby Malaysia Embassy as stated in the visa with reference letter and request for Single Entry Visa.


New student is required to apply for the Single Entry Visa (SEV) at Malaysia Embassy in your home country. In order to obtain the SEV, the incoming student needs to apply for the Visa Approval Letter (VAL) to obtain a Student Pass (Mobility Program) with the duration of study 3 – 12 months at the EMGS online system at

☑ Applicant Photo (size 35mm x 45mm) with WHITE background (PHOTO GUIDELINE)

☑ Copy of Offer Letter from UiTM (all pages)

☑ Confirmation Letter from Home University

☑ Health Declaration form (HERE).

☑ Copy of Passport (Validity of the passport must at least 18 months to expiry date)

  1. All students must come under a mobility pass and not a tourist or entry visa.
  2. Students need to buy flight ticket only after you receive Visa Approval Letter (VAL) from OIA or through Malaysian Immigration either via email or mail to obtain the mobility pass upon arrival.
  3. For the duration of study less than 3 months: The students need to ensure that the visit pass duration is able to cover your study duration in Malaysia.
  4. You are advised to follow Malaysia rules and regulations. Failure to follow the regulations is under your own responsibility. Refer to our Malaysia Immigration Department at


UiTM welcomes all new international students with a free airport pick-up service.

This service available from Monday – Friday: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm; except for public holidays.


All exchange students are eligible to apply for on-campus accommodation.
Students who wish to apply for accommodation services provided by the University may fill-up the accommodation booking at:

International students Accommodation (Kristal Residential College)

Incoming students are also allowed to rent private – off-campus accommodation. However, students are required to make their own arrangements on this option.

3. Personal Bond Refund

Students may claim their personal bond money after the visa cancellation is done

2. Visa Cancellation

Students are required to submit their passport and documents needed for visa cancellation purposes. Students are prohibited to go back to their home country without canceling the student visa/ professional pass. The process must be done at least 21 days before their flight departure. The documents needed are:

  1. Original passport 
  2. Copy of flight ticket
  3. Status Letter Verification from faculty
